Meanwhile the new employees are being paid less than the employees started at over ten years ago.ĭon't get me wrong it's a good casino if you are in desperate need of a job, but if you are in no rush it's better to go basically anywhere else. So these people from the prior company don't care since they are automatically making better wages. Most of these employees were part of other casinos and Boyd bought them out, but they got to keep their original pay. The claim is that the casino is a "break-in" casino, but then Boyd will brag about having employees that stay for over ten years. "If you don't like the pay, find another job" is the motto of management. Considering The Orleans is one of the largest casinos in Las Vegas the pay doesn't even come close to competing with the pay of casinos that are half the size. The Boyd Corporation across the board pays 25-35% lower than its competitors. One can't blame management for all the issues with this casino.
